Bush pokes fun at himself at dinner
by Laughing Boy at 2:54 pm EST, Mar 25, 2004

] There was Bush looking under furniture in a fruitless,
] frustrating search. "Those weapons of mass destruction
] have got to be somewhere," he said.

ah ha! AH HA HA! Thats right - since there apparently never WERE any, just move the goal posts and make the whole WMD thing out to be one big joke! Guess those 600 (and rising) BODY BAGS of US soldiers that have been coming home in a steady stream for the last 12 months are a joke too?

Yeah, I saw this yesterday, there's a video of it on MSNBC if you feel like watching it.

When I saw this, I thought about meme'ing it, but I think I just give up. Anyone who votes for Bush is probably going to vote for him at this point anyway. Anyone who thinks he is a great President or a leader in the war on terror is just going to believe that because they want to.

The man is sick. Making light of the supposed reason for the invasion and occupation of Iraq, joking about his lies to this country's citizens. Yeah, that's really funny. It's like he's rubbing it in our faces now.

Of course, the media at the Radio and Television Correspondents' Dinner are just as guilty. They laughed along with him. Just goes to show how seriously this is being taken by the media. People who still get their news the traditional way will probably never see nor hear about this.

If this isn't proof to Bush apologists of the guy's mentality, that he could completely care less about doing the right thing for America, I don't know what else to offer.

Think about it: You're the man that has sent close to 600 people to their death in the last year and had about 3500 injured. "Injured" is a nice sanitized word that could mean anything from a broken ankle to a spine shattering, paralyzing frag wound, amputations, or metal in the brain, so it's hard to judge. This is happening on a daily basis in a land thousands of miles away. Your coalition is falling apart because they're seeing through your lies now. Your reason for invading and occupying another country has still not been substantiated in a year. You sit in the public eye and make jokes about this fact. I mean, what is going through your mind? Can anyone think like this man? Can that mentality be understood? To smile and joke about it. I'm sure the victim's families really appreciate it George.

Yes, you are correct. The "button heads" don't see what the big deal is... a quick peek at Neal Boortz site (BTW - Boortz CLAIMS to be a libertarian, but never seems to do anything but suck the GOPs proverbial dick) reviels that the republiCONs dont see anything wrong with joking about this...

Scroll down to "IT'S OFFICIAL: JOHN sKERRY HAS NO SENSE OF HUMOR"

There is even a poll to vote on it. Only 8% of his listeners found anything wrong in joking about the WMD. EIGHT PERCENT. -LB
