] Aside from users of naked DSL services, an FCC decision

FUCK THE FCC! This is a death blow to any CLEC or competitive DSL provider and is obviously pandering to the Bell Lobby.

I'd like to see the original charter which founded the agency and compare it to their current place. The FCC has truly outlived its usefulness...

When I moved to Georgia I was informed that I had to have a pots line to get DSL. I moved here after 2002.

The Georgia PUC is notorious for being in the hands of BellSouth (Corporate HQ located in Atlanta). Interestingly enough, you don't see a lot of BellSouth pilots or new product intros in GA. Most are in FL, SC, and TN, where the PUCs are more known for being anti-Bell.

[ I wonder if it'll have the net effect of driving people away from DSL altogether... granted, not everyone has choices in the matter, but for those that do, cable's a completely valid alternative. -k]
