Cho Seung-Hui's Plays
by Rattle at 7:14 pm EDT, Apr 17, 2007

AOL News has obtained two plays a classmate says were written by Cho Seung-Hui. Ian MacFarlane, the former classmate and current AOL employee, provided us with the plays. A note from Mr. MacFarlane and links to the works appear below.

This kid was seriously disturbed. As information is coming out about this guy, it seems he was giving every warning sign that he was a problem waiting to happen.

I'm sorry, but I think that is crap. That's the big hobby horse that media wants you to ride. The stalking stuff, yeah - that's a red flag. The plays? Hmmm. I think some things, like history, only seem clear because they are from a retrospective view.

I just wrote a very long rant about this before I saw your post.
here.

In terms of his social interactions, possibly but i'd say its a stretch. In terms of him being a writer of violence? Bullshit. You're in college right now Nick, do you really want to make friends with everyone in your class? You wear a black trench coat... carry around a zero haliburton case, sometimes a cowboy hat, and have a fascination with weapons, conspiracy theory, and hacking. If you put the introverted Asian writer kid in the desk next to you who do you think would raise more red flags? The correlations people try to make in these cases are ridiculous. Your habits could have you marked as "seriously disturbed" as easily as this kids habits. The fact that this kit really WAS disturbed says nothing for the amateur psycho analysis from complete strangers. The only people who would have remotely been in a position to do so were his friends and family (if even they really knew him).

And i'm not sure if you've read the plays or not, but they're not really that violent. They're stupid and poorly written, but the violence isn't extreme at all. There's references to pedophilia and ass rape, but no actual occurrences. The only deaths in them is the protagonist (or the close approximation) in the McBeef script. If anything, he seemed like he might have had issues with old, bald, fat men... Yet dick cheney still walks the earth.
