Thomson Financial invests in Web services
by Reknamorken at 4:51 pm EST, Dec 20, 2002

] "THE FINANCIAL INDUSTRY is a traditional early adopter of
] new technologies, and Thomson Financial, a global
] provider of integrated information solutions, has been an
] early investor in the area of Web services. At a recent
] VeriSign news event, Mark Barbagallo, vice president of
] distributive technologies at Thomson Financial, met with
] InfoWorld News Editor Mark Jones to discuss his company's
] commitment to Web services, the importance of building a
] business-client trust relationship, and the role of
] vendors such as VeriSign and Grand Central in helping
] Thomson deliver Web services to its clients."

A good read from a large corporation that is actively deploying webservices. They expect to scale to thousands of web services eventually.

Along with WiFi this seems to be one of the few possible sectors where we are going to see some serious investment and growth in the next few years (while the recession continues).

Forget computer security (because everyone is doing it now), go for Web Services.
