Your Sunday Music Video; this is a nice Jazzy track with some archival footage pasted together. For some reason embedding is disabled on this one so you'll have to click through the link.

In keeping with my plan to regularly post music videos, in hopes that others join, here is an interesting one for Autechre that really makes you wish Youtube had higher resoltuions available. There are some better screen caps here.

'Weird Al' Yankovic finally hits the top 10 - CNN.com
Topic: Music 8:20 am EDT, Oct 24, 2006

"Lynwood," Yankovic's 12th album, debuted this month at No. 10 on the Billboard 200, his first top 10 album ever. Meanwhile, the Chamillionaire parody "White and Nerdy," reached No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100, besting his previous high of No. 12 with "Eat It" in 1984.

For his part, Yankovic tends to credit the Internet. "The ("Nerdy") video has gotten a lot of attention, and the proliferation of places like YouTube (has) been a big help," he says.

Once "Nerdy" hit outlets like YouTube, there was no stopping it. "As much as people are griping about the Internet taking sales away from artists, it's been a huge promotional tool for me."

Take THAT RIAA!

Nashville producer and artist Jeremy Dickens remains on the vanguard of electronica in a city known for twang.

MemeStreams user logickal has a new EP out. I'm pulling it down from iTunes right now. If you're into ambient industrial music his stuff is definately worth a listen. You can catch some samples of his work on his podcast, now in it's 27th episode.

Ex-Door Lighting Their Ire - Los Angeles Times
Topic: Music 2:26 pm EDT, Oct  5, 2005

"People lost their virginity to this music, got high for the first time to this music," Densmore said. "I've had people say kids died in Vietnam listening to this music, other people say they know someone who didn't commit suicide because of this music…. On stage, when we played these songs, they felt mysterious and magic. That's not for rent."

I always liked the Doors. Seemed like real music. I also recall the experience of seeing Led Zeppelin in an ad for Cadillacs to be a rather jarring contrast. My image of the Cadillac is refined, comfortable, and boring. Unless its an Escalade, which is another matter entirely, but neither evokes 70s rock music for me. W1ld informed me that I'm not the target market for this and so I'm just not going to get it. Its people in their 60's who were rock'n out to Zeppelin in their 20s who might pay attention to the ad because of the music. In any event, I get why Densmore doesn't want them using Doors music, and I'm glad.
