Onion:Massachusetts Supreme Court Orders All Citizens To Gay Marry
by IconoclasT at 8:58 pm EST, Feb 28, 2004

BOSTON—Justices of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court ruled 5-2 Monday in favor of full, equal, and mandatory gay marriages for all citizens. The order nullifies all pre-existing heterosexual marriages and lays the groundwork for the 2.4 million compulsory same-sex marriages that will take place in the state by May 15.
Marshall added: "Since the allowance of gay marriage undermines heterosexual unions, we decided to work a few steps ahead and strike down opposite-sex unions altogether."
Massachusetts has one of the highest concentrations of gay households in the country, at 1.3 percent, according to the 2000 census. Under the new laws, the figure is expected to increase by approximately 98.7 percentage points.

Riduculous, yes but it does show what a silly issue this whole thing is.

Considering this is going to be a major issue in November, apparently not.

That's my whole point, this is going to be a major issue this november, and there are more important issues that need to be addressed.

Ah, I understand. But some people think this issue will make or break the moral fiber of America...so I guess it depends on what you think about the issue.

Is your life different since gay people started getting married in California? Have you felt now as if your commitment to your spouse, your vows to love each other til death parts have somehow been cheapened? That your marriage is no longer holy or special to you?

If the answer is yes, chances are you have some deeper issues to worry about then some loving couples in California getting married. If the answer is no, then hopefully you see why this entire gay marriage thing should be a complete non-issue.

I really grow sick of this issue as a whole. I argee with Nanochick, the very fact that gay marriage is being made an issue when there are so many other issues is simply retarded.

[ Welcome to america -- where retards rule the country.

The use of logic and reason in this country is becoming rarer every day. Fortunately we're not *quite* retarded enough to pass this amendment. Who knows, maybe this will be good in the long run, forcing some fence-sitting dipshits into using their brains for a purpose.

(incidentally, i think you meant biochick, not nanochick, based on the thread...)]
