While I think it's true that the press hold Democrats and Republicans to different standards (mainly because of Fox's influence), I'm not sure this case shows it. After all, the guy didn't admit he was gay, so any hypocricy can still be debated. Probably more importantly, he's merely a Member of Congress, and there are a lot of MCs, most of whom will never that important.

I guess you could say Gary Condit was handled differently, but that involved the issue of a missing person.

McGreevey was a governor, and that's usually what Presidents have done as their previous job, so they get a lot more attention.
