Nissan Skyline GT-R R34, Skyline GT-R R35 Concept, Skyline GT-R R34 M-Spec Nur - RSportsCars.com

As per my conversation in the air-dried bachelor pad last weekend....

] Nissan will continue building the Skyline GT-R in the
] 21st Century, providing the ultimate driving pleasure to
] even more people worldwide. In its next generation Nissan
] is looking to introducing the Skyline GT-R in other
] markets worldwide.

The 2002 concept ones look pretty fab, but other than that it looks like just another four-door sedan. Its almost as ugly as a Subaru.

Why not get the sexy Porsche 911 Carrera that will get you to 60 mph 0.4 seconds faster with almost 50 more brake horsepower for $20,000 LESS? I mean, honestly....$90k for a Nissan? There's bound to be hardly any German engineering! :-)

Hell, for that amount of money, you could get a Mercedes SL2005 roadster that would charm the pants right off any female in a 5-mile radius. ;-) Or, you could get a Maserati for $3k less than that or a Jaguar XK for $4k less. Check out

if you don't believe me.

I guess now we know why I'd never heard of a Nissan Skyline...there's a fricking REASON why they aren't bringing them to the states anytime soon. :P

[ I definitely don't agree with that... plus, I like subaru's sometimes. I'll grant that it doesn't look like a $90k sports car, but some people are really into that sleeper thing. I have a little of that. I always thought it'd be neat to have my old ass 1987 Audi 5000k tricked out performance wise, but still look ghetto-fab. Anyway, I like the way it looks... sporty without being ostentatious, despite the giant wing. And I'm not a fan of the 2002 concepts either... they somehow managed to get the worst aspects of boxiness and curviness into the same vehicle. Like some unholy union of a Z and a Scion xA. ]

[ Now, that's a convincing argument. At $90k, there's about a million cars you could choose from, and it'd be hard to argue that this is the best choice. All comes down to personal prefs, but, yeah, I'd be tempted towards the NSX, 911, Audi RS6, and yes, I've always liked Maserati. Although, what I'd probably do is get an old BMW 8-series and restore/customize it. And then buy some other stuff with the left over 40 grand. -k]
