Police taser Pregnant Mom

Tasers should be outlawed. The police NEVER know the condition of someone that they might decide to use these things on. They are inhuman and most of the police that I know are too stupid and too mean to be trusted with them.

Um...If she was really worried about hurting the fetus, why was she resisting arrest and leaving the cops no choice but to remove her forcibly? The taser was probably preferable to having her fingers broken with a night stick, but what did she expect that they would do?

Actually, you may be onto something...they should just shoot first and ask questions later. Like it or not, tasers fulfill the much-needed middleground between knightsticks and guns, all three of which are necessary for police protection. Bestowing them upon worthy individuals, however, is the unfortunate job of under-staffed, under-paid, and over-worked police department heads. Personally, I'd ten times rather some drunken mother-to-be get tasered than lose an officer to her gun-happy boyfriend. In the article, I will gladly admit that it is suspect about whether the taser ought to have been used. Uncannily, the article actually supports the fact that your qualifiers of "stupid" and "mean" don't mean shit when it comes to giving people weapons. A better one would be "responsible."
