Proof that british people have a strange sense of fun
by Dagmar at 4:56 pm EDT, Jun 10, 2005

This video is a little slow to start up, but worth the wait. Watch it full screen, because you won't believe your eyes otherwise.

Basically, some people have come up with one of the scariest arcade games ever, and are simply waiting for new victims, er players, to step and stick in some coins.

This is an entertaining idea but I think it's fake. His friends are too pliant, and there just happen to be exactly two seats waiting for them when they get to the "command center."

I'm sure you're right. It is more likely to be is a creative comment on the ammoral mentality of gamers, hackers, etc. rather than a piece of engineering.. !

As for we in the UK having a strange sense of fun, you betcha! One of the things that constantly amuses us is to see British comedy models imported the US only to have the jokes surgically removed before being refilmed by Americans and broadcast. The film Hitchhikers Guide is one example. Fawlty Towers is another. In short, very often, you just don't get it. Which is not to say you don't have excellent comedy over there, just that when you import our succeses you miss the point of what made them a success. Always a puzzle ...

I'm calling shenanigans on this one... also it is interestign that it only works on 1/3 of the people, but it happened to work on the first person that used it? GTFO.

Still an interesting video, even though I am 99.9999999999% sure it is fake.
