WorldNetDaily: 'Homely' bride prompts lawsuit
by Heathyr at 10:31 am EDT, Jul 7, 2006

Citing the potential bride's protruding teeth, bad complexion and poor English, a family in Massachusetts called off an arranged marriage and filed a lawsuit for damages.

A lawsuit for ugliness...just when I think our court systems have reached their all time lows, something like this reminds me that people are just, well, ridiculous.

I must admit, I feel for the poor girl. First, she's got to be subjected to arranged marriages anyway. Definitely not my cup of tea. Then, she has the realization that not only is she not pretty enough for the wedding to take place, but that she's SO homely, people are going to sue to get money back from a trip out to see her.

Makes my normal teenage/young adult angst, oh those many years ago, seem like absolutely nothing.

Heathyr,

This is why I think arranged marriages are a mistake...

We have enough problems with marriage in the world, we don't need to "force" couples together.

Lastly, plastic surgery, and orthodontics are available, although they aren't my answer.

I believe that there is a match for everyone... and I'm proof.

That's my 2ยข, YMMV.

Yes, let them fend for themselves like the rest of us. Can't get off the porch? Tough, your genetic material isn't going far.
