The commenter fails to recognize that government itself is technology. Written language and books are technology.

The "nerd hubris" here is to be forever in search of "solutions" to "problems." Perhaps because of the "puppy smoothies" in the title, the silly rabbits immediately hop to the vandalism angle, when in fact the question of scrutiny pops up in the normal course of business, without anyone necessarily intending to spoil things for everyone. Another commenter hits this on the head by explaining that

twenty teenage idiots plus one expert are indistinguishable from twenty-one idiots.
