Screen on the Green Film Series in Atlanta
by Palindrome at 12:58 am EDT, Jun 1, 2007

Screen on the Green is a free event that shows classic Hollywood films in the great outdoors. In Atlanta, the films are shown at Piedmont Park in Midtown. There tends to be a good mix of films, from horror flicks, to comedies, to musicals. Vendors are on hand for light snacks and beverages, but patrons can bring their own picnics as long as they abide by park and festival rules. Low-backed chairs are allowed, but grills, umbrellas, and pets are prohibited. Movies begin at dusk, and there is usually a classic cartoon to kick things off. People usually start arriving for the best spots up front around 7:00 P.M.

The 2007 Screen on the Green Schedule

May 31 — Casablanca

June 7 — Car Wash

June 14 — Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid

June 21 — Funny Girl

June 28 — E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial

This is a blast. If you are in the area I would suggest you check it out. Pack a picnic dinner....grab a few friends....you're set.
