This is almost unwatchable... i can't stand our media.

They take a complex issue, and a nuanced statement of fact, and turn it into a simplistic one-liner that can be shoved down the other person's throat until they get so angry that they look irrational.

This sucks even when it's "my side" doing it, though i think that's less common. Say what you want about the stupidity of american voters, the corruption of this administration and the cock-up that is Iraq, but for fucks sake the goddamned media has done just as much damage as the rest combined.

I think the thing that really gets spotlighted in this video is that the media is not doing its job in a democracy, which is to inform the populace and expose the truth. The media is just another corporate lobby protecting its interests and self-perpetuating. It's no different than the politicians, the lobbyists, and the corporate interests that fuel the machine. The real truth is that there is no source of truth. And I'm beginning to think that the reason why public education has been such a colossal failure for 50+ years is because it allows this exact thing to exist.
