I'm so glad they are resuming production. It's going to be interesting to see what they are like without the writers...

It will be interesting to see what happens in January, as many shows are coming back. Similar to the popular use of the term "Singer-Songwritter" defining a better musician than simple a singer that does what a production company says, there may be a term similar to "Actor-Writer" that appears soon. As opposed to the current failed formula of a pretty face backed by a fleet of writers, "Actor-Writer" talent will be encouraged (since it is now necessary). The "Actor-Writer" cannot work in every situation ... but there are many areas, like comedy skits, where it can work. Along with that, producers and directors will have to step it up a notch to say "that's funny" or "that's dumb". In the end, shows that evolve and produce new content will be where the new year's viewer ship goes. Ad revenue will follow, and the writers influence on these evolved shows will be greatly reduced.
