Republicans attack Obama for associating with Lessig
by Decius at 1:09 pm EDT, Apr 25, 2008

In addition to happily showing off blasphemous images of Christ, Lessig is also known as a digital communist (read the linked article for the substance of why he's called that) Lessig believes there should be no such thing as intellectual property rights -- patents and copyrights should be tossed. Lessig's anti-property theories give businesses and a lot of regular folks the heebie-jeebies. After all, if the government can strip you of your intellectual property, why can't it take away your real property?

This got picked up by Limbaugh. Lessig responds here. Don't miss the comments in his thread. If you've wondered how completely disingenuous the scoring of political points gets its hard to imagine the layers of reasoning getting more twisted up than this.

Tom, if you're reading RedState, may I recommend electroshock therapy? It's much less damaging to your higher brain functions.

Its not like I was intentionally reading that site. I do tend to seek out people who disagree with me to hone my thinking, but redstate, and limbaugh, are better for honing one's heart disease. Its just that its easiest to see the lies when you are very familiar with the thing being lied about. And the people on this site are very familiar with Lessig and what he does. Many here have his books on their shelves. Everything that people like redstate, and limbaugh, say is as twisted as this. Everything that they say is this dishonest, this willfully and purposefully ignorant. But its only completely clear when you have a deep understanding of the thing being lied about.

This is almost as good as the guy driving past me while I was walking in the Lowes parking lot. He had some talk radio blaring on the system. All I heard was this choice quote:
"Germany has said that wind power doesn't work. It's easier to try and control the weather than to generate power from the wind."

Um.. yeah.
