Gunman, guard shot at Holocaust museum - Crime & courts- msnbc.com
by Mike the Usurper at 2:46 pm EDT, Jun 10, 2009

Law enforcement officials identified the suspect as James Wenneker von Brunn, born in 1920, from the Eastern Shore of Maryland, NBC News reported. NBC said he may have had connections to hate groups or anti-government groups.

For those who started something when the terror book came out about right wing groups, this and the Tiller murder are the sort of thing it was talking about. How many lefty attacks have there been? Oh that's right, none.

Reality does have a liberal bias, and it's because of people like these guys.

You're forgetting ecoterrorism. Fewer attacks this century, but they aren't non-existent.

You mean PETA throwing paint on someone? Sorry, they don't even use lead paint much less throw it downrange at 350+ ft/sec. Breaking into a lab someone to let the animals go? Not very smart, and potentially dangerous (possible biologic issues, go watch 12 Monkeys) but if the places doing it are actually following bio protocols, not. Property damage, yes, people, no.

Sorry, "ecoterrorism" is people willing to break laws to make what someone they disagree with is doing more expensive. Period. When they start smacking people with baseball bats, chopping them up with machetes, or shooting and killing them in church or at a museum that exists for the sole purpose of remembering man's inhumanity to man, then they'll have earned the name terrorist. In the meantime, they're a pain in the ass and nothing more.

Hell, they even stopped tree spiking because people were getting hurt. The real terrorists revoked the eco terrorists membership in the Eastern-American Terrorist Martyrs Elite (better known as EATME) because they were too namby pamby.

(Yes, I had to get out the thesaurus for that one, I won't even try to deny it)

Well, there was the Weathermen:

Harvey Klehr, the Andrew W. Mellon professor of politics and history at Emory University in Atlanta, said in 2003, "The only reason they were not guilty of mass murder is mere incompetence. I don't know what sort of defense that is."

The UnaBomber

Injured 23 people and killed three...

Olde Time Anarchist Bombings which may still be an issue.

Also one cannot avoid mentioning the cache that the ruthless Che Guevara has developed on the left. I recently had a difficult time trying to explain to a Russian emigre that American teenagers who walked around with pictures of "that murderer" on their t-shirts where not necessarily advocating violence.

People kill for all kinds of ideological reasons.

With the exception of Teddy K, this one doesn't go very far anymore. First, let's talk about the Weathermen, who gave warnings. That's not incompetence, that's trying to avoid killing people. And they've been gone since the early 70's.

Ted is the weirdo lefty Luddite, and I'm in full agreement with the fringe groups of the left being checked out too, I just can't think of one of the top of my head still in existence that thinks of everyone else as sub-human.

If you want to go old school, groups like Red Army and Bader are gone because their backing (the KGB) is toast, and the abuses of most modern governments aren't anything like the abuses of old to create more of them.

If you want to talk Che, that one is a different story. He's viewed as more a romance-tragic figure rather than what his history would normally lead to. Look at people who have Mao shirts, or Lenin shirts. Had Che taken control of Cuba and Castro been the one killed, I have a feeling they'd be Castro shirts, not Che.

In any case, domestic lefty terrorism, with the exception of Ted K (and even his exception doesn't go anywhere because he wasn't part of any group) has turned "violence" into "You ruined my coat!" And that's been true for quite some time in this country.

And also people like these guys.

There is a redundant post from ubernoir not displayed in this view.
