Microsoft Mum on Unix Licensing Move

This is how they shall commoditize the linux?

This keeps getting weirder and weirder...

I'm telling you, MS will release products based on Linux soon. It's their only defense left. They will 'embrace and extend' the source to the point where it's useless. I've been saying this for a year.

Seems like that would be the reasoning here. Or at least a possibility they are exploring. They have aquired SCO's System V for linux, which the link says allows linux to run SCO apps. They can now develop their apps for linux, but have them require the SCO System V stuff, so everyone will be forced to run M$ software over their freeware Linux/GNU OS, if they want Microsoft software on their Linux PC. They can make Microsoft linux with SCO System V for linux highly interoperable with all the new closed protocols (.net, whatever) they are doing, but only with SCO System V for Linux. M$ starts benefitting from open source development. M$ wins.

There is a redundant post from Rattle not displayed in this view.
