Its actually designed to have non-person entities. Its not solely designed to facilitate dating. Its got stuff for resume & job posting, craigslist style buying and selling, posting room rentals, etc. It pushes users at ways to communicate with each other. They are showing more clue about social networks.. Its interface is nicer. It seems to be setup to do a number of things I feel Friendster could do, but can't, or that it totally fails at.

Its not the end-all shit or anything.. But in contrast to Friendster, this is a lot more advanced and shows alot more clue. I have said that I don't take Friendster that seriously.. This site, I can at least take seriously.

Ok, and another key thing this site has going on.. It appears to _work_. I was using it for awhile today, poking around, checking it out, and everything appeared to work. However, every single time I have used Friendster, its been extremely slow, searches have failed, pages don't reflect changes, connections time out, and things like that. I remember Friendster sucking from day one.. We'll see how these folks do on their turn.. I don't think they can possibly do worse then Friendster. They have pretty much taken the same rough model as Friendster, and just made it not broken.

I've only used it for 45 min, so I don't have too much to say about it.. [ I have not gotten any dates or jobs yet, so clearly it sucks.. :P -ed ] But I've been forced/challenged sooooo many times in the past few weeks to explain exactly why Friendster completely sucks, and why it will continue to suck. This site reflects understanding of a number of the points I had been making.

This site just started getting some widespread attention, I suspect it will start to become very popular very fast.. And I have a feeling that most of it is going to be people leaving Friendster. There is very little (read: nothing) holding users to Friendster that I can see..
