The semi living artist ( Symbiotic A Research Group in collaboration with the Potter Lab)

“MEART – The Semi Living Artist” is a geographically detached, bio-cybernetic research and development project exploring aspects of creativity and artistry in the age of new biological technologies.

It is an installation distributed between two locations in the world. Its “brain” consists of cultured nerve cells that grow in a neuro-engineering lab, in Atlanta. Its “body” is a robotic drawing arm that is capable of producing two-dimensional drawings. The “brain” and the “body” will communicate in real time with each other for the duration of the exhibition.

MEART will be performing in the Eye Drum Gallery Thursday
16th of March @ 19:00 - 1 show only.

The power of nun
Topic: Business 4:56 pm EST, Feb 27, 2006

As a shareholder representative who believes in good pay for bottom-rung workers, Ruth Rosenbaum occasionally reminds corporate executives across the table from her that she has a doctorate in economics. In other words, she knows something about business.
But she may get more clout sometimes, she says, when she tells them something more personal: She's a nun.

Cache prizes
Topic: Technology 3:08 pm EST, Feb 19, 2006

Geocaching is a hobby that combines hiking and treasure hunting with the latest advances in portable global positioning system devices. Cachers, as they like to be called, hide waterproof containers -- caches -- and mark their exact locations with GPS coordinates that are posted on the Internet. Other cachers get the coordinates, punch the numbers into hand-held GPS receivers and follow the digital directions to the hidden prizes.

Sounds like a hobby for nerds? No doubt, but geocaching can be stimulating and addictive.

The Bank of Asia is a very famous building in Bangkok. It was made way back in 1985, and it's robotic appearance is just a symbol of the modernization of banking. It also has the ability to transform into a mega-robot.

Man I wish I had see this when I was there.

U: OK, this site is down, so try this one instead...

Court Veteran Remembers a Scary Start - New York Times

"I was afraid I might inadvertently write something harmful," Justice Breyer said. "People read every word. Everything you do is important. There is a seriousness to every word, and you really can't go back. Precedent doesn't absolutely limit you. In almost every case, you're in a wide-open area. The breadth of that opening, getting up to speed on each case, constitutional law as a steady diet, the importance to the profession. ..." His voice trailed off, and he shook his head. "My goodness!" he exclaimed.
