Start the engine; press a button on the right marked "D". As soon as we give the bike any throttle the "N" light goes out and the "D" illuminates. We accelerate away as we would on a scooter. There's no need to worry about a clutch lever or foot-operated gear selection because those things don't exist on the DN-01.
This "automatic/human-friendly" transmission motorcycle from Honda should be out later this year or early next year. Neat looking - and you don't have to worry about operating a clutch/gear-shifter - so it's more like a scooter in motorcycle form. I personally am waiting to upgrade my 2007 Yamaha R1 for the hopefully redesigned 2009 R1 - but this bike is interesting. Motorcycle Daily |

"Would you rather just sit there and cower underneath a desk when someone executes you or would you rather have a chance to defend your life? That's what it really boils down to."
What do you guys think? I personally own .....uhm.. many firearms. My opinion here is mixed. College students aren't always the most responsible people - but then again, they CAN carry guns on the street; so why not in the class room? If a killer came into my class room and was shooting people - AND - I was carrying one of my guns - I certainly would shoot the killer. So in that example - a good idea. However, colleges + lots of beer and partying + guns --> doesn't sound like the best mix to me either. If I HAD to make a choice; I'd allow guns in school - and hope that it lowered school shootings rather than raised them. If it did raise them, I'd have to change my answer. Eco-Terrorism - and my response. For every story I read about ELF or other eco-terrorist group doing something like this - burning a luxury house, or Hummer dealership, etc - I am likely to respond by damaging the environment. They burned down a house; which will take 6 months to rebuild... and, it will be rebuilt - which of course essentially means double carbon footprint (caused by it's construction). They know that - they are just trying to make a statement. Well you know what - Maybe I should go pour some motor oil into a lake or something in response - which will take years and years to degrade. The fish are the martyrs.. sorry.. go ahead and blame me; and in turn I blame ELF. I feel like making a statement too... Interesting story on how our government is trying to protect us from Nukes... One could take this as an invasion to privacy - I personally like the idea; but perhaps the technology needs to be tweaked a little to not pick up radioactive cats. Welcome to Mars express: only a three hour trip
This sorta' makes me wish I was born 20-50 years from now, so this was more of a reality. If you think about how far we've come in the 1900's.... then hopefully before the end of the 2000's we'd have this technology and it'd be mainstream.
