Recombinant Bovine Growth Hormone makes milk cheaper by causing cows to pump out more of the stuff, and brings in lots of money for Monsanto. It also induces very elevated levels of IGF-1 (Insulin Growth Factor-1) which is a powerful tumor growth promoter. Only one test of safety was ever done, and the FDA will not allow anyone to see the raw data for peer review. Cheaper milk also means more small dairy farms go out of business.
