Meet Bianca. Just Bianca. Like Bjork. Or Borat. She captivated those who caught her debut at the film festival here last month in the unconventional comedy Lars and the Real Girl. The rest of the world will be able to experience the magic that is Bianca starting Friday.
WTF? Let me make note that the title is a reference, then I can freely repeat, WTF? 'Lars' star Bianca isn't just your average movie actress - USATODAY.com |

Movie review time! Fast, screwed up, and funny as hell. If you're into screwed up action movies (with sex, drugs and some funny choices on the soundtrack thrown in) this one should be right up the alley. Crank (2006) |

The movie itself though isn't bad. It's well paced, reasonably quick, if a bit predictable, has one specific plot hole you can drive a truck through (I'll not say what it is because it would be a big spoiler) and overall, it's decent enough.
No politics this time, it's my movie review for Poseiden. Pretty good in some respects, not so good in others. Maybe it'll help you decide where to spend that movie money. American Dissent: Sinking Ship |

Yep, it's a link to Amazon. I don't care. If you haven't seen this movie, you need to. If you have seen it, you need to see it again. This movie won 4 statues of Oscar, and was nominated for 6 more. Amazon.com: Network (Two-Disc Special Edition): DVD |

But Schneider is correct, and Patrick Goldstein has not yet won a Pulitzer Prize. Therefore, Goldstein is not qualified to complain that Columbia financed "Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo" while passing on the opportunity to participate in "Million Dollar Baby," "Ray," "The Aviator," "Sideways" and "Finding Neverland." As chance would have it, I have won the Pulitzer Prize, and so I am qualified. Speaking in my official capacity as a Pulitzer Prize winner, Mr. Schneider, your movie sucks.
Wow. I don't remember the last time Ebert blasted a movie like this. :: rogerebert.com :: Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo |

In 1973, he complained to his dentist, who advised him: "Jimmy, you're going to be Scotty long after you're dead. If I were you, I'd go with the flow." "I took his advice," said Doohan, "and since then everything's been just lovely."
No line, his is the best. 'Star Trek' Star James Doohan Dies |

After seeing this, I want to watch again and compare. Lovely zingers like-- ]Billy Bush is a little too chipper about "the genocide of civil war." ]It's "Hotel Rwanda," not "Bringing Down the House." 2005 Oscars Blow By Blow |

] As for the robots, they function like the giant insects ] in "Starship Troopers," as video game targets. You can't ] even be mad at them, since they're only programs. ] Although, come to think of it, you can be mad at ] programs; Microsoft Word has inspired me to rage far ] beyond anything these robots engender. Going to a movie for free because you're a reviewer? Cool. Having to sit through crap, but maybe a good popcorn movie? Ok Getting to slam Microsoft in a movie review? Priceless. There's some things money can't buy, for everything else, I accept cash. I, ROBOT / ** (PG-13) |

] The activist, author and director told the Sunday Herald ] that, as long as pirated copies of his film were not ] being sold, he had no problem with it being downloaded. ] ] "I don't agree with the copyright laws and I ] don't have a problem with people downloading the ] movie and sharing it with people as long as they're ] not trying to make a profit off my labour. I would oppose ] that," he said. ] ] "I do well enough already and I made this film ] because I want the world, to change. The more people who ] see it the better, so I'm happy this is ] happening." ... ] Defenders of Moores position include Pulp Fiction ] director Quentin Tarantino, who earlier this year ] encouraged audiences in countries where his films are ] not legally available to obtain counterfeit copies. ... ] Valenti said: Nobody can allow their rights to be ] stolen because, if you cant retrieve your investment, ] youre out of the movie business, ] ] "I don't think there's really a single ] actor or director in the world who does not believe that ] if you don't combat piracy, it will devour you in ] the future." Jack Valenti, meet Mr. Moore and Mr. Tarentino. Both had had movies at the top of the box office charts now, maybe you've heard of them? While there is a nuance to what you say that would let you weasel out a defensible position, it doesn't look good. Moore and Tarentino's views are both influenced based ON MPAA policies (ratings, getting the word out for the first, market/region encoding in the second) not because they are disinterested in money or hate the movie industry. Go Michael! Tell Jack Valenti to kiss your pretty damn expansive white ass! LOL Moore: pirate my film, no problem - [Sunday Herald] |
