Moviegoer is stabbed after complaining about cellphone user - latimes.com
Topic: Movies 12:14 pm EST, Mar 10, 2010

A dispute at a Lancaster movie theater during a screening of "Shutter Island" ended with someone plunging a meat thermometer into the neck of the man who complained about someone sitting near him talking on a cellphone during the show.nullnullnull

I guess they have to add this to the list of things they tell you not to do in the theater.

"Please, no stabbing people with meat thermometers. Thank you for coming to lowes"

Hold On, I've Seen This Before: How Star Wars, Star Trek, The Matrix, and Harry Potter are Actually the Same Movie | Spiteful Critic
Topic: Movies 2:09 am EDT, Jul  6, 2009

Do your favorite movies sometimes seem a bit…familiar? When discussing Harry Potter, do you sometimes mistake Voldemort for Darth Vader? Do Neo’s abilities in the Matrix remind you of the Force, only just a little bit different? Well, you would be right, as the most wildly successful franchises of the last 40 years are basically the same recycled story you have heard over and over again. To highlight the (few) differences between some of the most famous franchises ever produced, I have color coded them as follows:

McKenzie did a fair amount of real-world research on the popcorn front, and his most important finding (as far as I'm concerned) is that if you're in a cinema which gives you a choice between buying a medium bag of popcorn and a large tub of popcorn, there's a greater-than-50% chance that the medium bag will actually contain more popcorn than the large tub

What's the one thing that's been missing from your life? Please, take a moment to think about it. Really spend a couple minutes dissecting what you've been doing with the last five years of your time on this Earth and figure out it what it is that preventing you from reaching total fulfillment.

OK, now, forget whatever you were thinking about, because I've found the answer for you. It's an action figure of The Dude.

Alex Gibney’s new critically-acclaimed documentary Taxi to the Dark Side follows the path of Afghan taxi driver Dilawar, who was innocent of any terrorist ties but still “tortured to death by interrogators in the U.S. prison at Bagram Air Base.” It also examines the Bush administration’s torture practices at Guantanamo Bay and Abu Ghraib.
