This is truly awesome. The folks at Graffiti Research Labs created a rig that facilitates painting with light on the side of a building. It uses a high lumens projector to project the light, a green laser pointer to do the writing, and a security/astrononmy camera to detect where the green laser was pointed. They have made all the code available under the GPL.
If you've never been to PostSecret before you really are missing out. You can read more about it on PostSecret Wikipedia page, but in a nutshell, people send in postcards with secret confessions on them.
It's pretty popular in the mainstream, with many of the postcards being featured in the music video Dirty Little Secret by All American Rejects. The postcards have also been collected in to books.
Anyway the creator of the site, Frank Warren, is going to be speaking and signing books at this Barnes & Noble in Atlanta on Monday, 1/22/2007.

I walked back over to my stove, to check on the status of my piddly sandwich. Somehow, it no longer seemed quite so weak. As though, there was an inner strength to my now proud grilled cheese.
I leapt into action, seizing the spatula into my shaking hand. Some powerful force was at work here, I could feel it. I slowly flipped my now glowing sandwich over, and with a brilliant flash of light, the holy image of THE FLYING SPAGHETTI MONSTER APPEARED!!11!!!ONEONEONE!!!!11
Everything makes sense now. I used to be all hung up on drugs, and depressed about life. But after tonight, my life has taken on new meaning. I must get this message out, and spread the holy gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster. This has truly changed my life.
The Flying Spaghetti Monster now makes appearences on pieces of toast, much like the Virgin Mary.
Saw the trailer for "V for Vendetta" last night, and it looks like an awesome film. It appears to be an adventure set in an alternate history with a fascist Britian, with the main character attempting to free the people by overthrowing the government. The many elements of the film relate to Guy Fawes, a man who tried to blow up Parliament with barrels of gunpowder in 1605, and is still burned in effigy every year on the 5th of November.
Its based on a set of 10 comic books from DC in the early 80's, written by Alan Moore (who also wrote the comic books for League of Extraordinary Gentlemen).
I'm memeing what seems to be the main fan site about the comic books and other media
Some cool pictures and blog by the same guy who runs the fan site. here
For those who are interested in this English Fascism theme, the obvious work to read is Orwell's 1984. There is an excellent movie remake of Shakespeare's Richard III staring Ian McKellen set in a Nazi-like Britian in the 1940s.
Julian Beever is an English artist who is famous for his art on the pavements of England, France, Germany, USA, Australia and Belgium. It's peculiarity? Beever gives his drawings an anamorphosis view, his images are drawn in such a way which gives them three dimensionality when viewing from the correct angle.
