GTA SA - Soundtrack - SpazioGames.it
Topic: Games 9:49 pm EDT, Oct 28, 2004

Grand Theft Auto San Andreas is now out. I cannot wait to play this game. Every evil bone in my body and all the violent tendencies buried within can be peacefully sated by playing this wonderful line of games. The ultimate high tech stress ball has its new revision. Praise Jah!

Follow this link for the contents of the soundtrack.

From Bel Biv Devoe to Willy Nelson, all the cheese and crackers are present. You will be able to mow down virtual people with machine gun fire and automobiles while singing Rage Against the Machine lyrics. You will not catch the irony, because as you hop into the next vehicle you will be greeted by anything ranging from NWA to Patsy Cline to David Bowie. I know someone up there likes me. Oh yeah.

Yahoo! News - Ubisoft to Publish U.S. Election Video Game
Topic: Games 6:53 pm EDT, Jun  2, 2004

] The typical video game calls for shooting aliens, racing
] cars and beating enemies into submission, but publisher
] Ubi Soft Entertainment has decided gamers may also enjoy
] stumping for votes at a nursing home somewhere in Ohio.
]
] The company said on Wednesday it has signed a deal to
] publish "The Political Machine," a new game for PCs that
] puts players in control of the 2004 presidential
] campaigns of either incumbent President Bush (news - web
] sites) or Democratic challenger, Sen. John Kerry (news -
] web sites).
]
] Players will also have the option of creating their own
] Republican or Democratic candidate or managing the
] campaign of a historical figure like Ronald Reagan (news
] - web sites) or Franklin Roosevelt.
]
] The game will allow players to raise funds, barnstorm for
] votes and join candidate debates.

GTA: San Andreas
Topic: Games 11:17 pm EST, Jan  8, 2004

] US publisher Take-Two Interactive went on a pre-Christmas
] trademark registration spree, the products of which point
] us tantalisingly towards the likely name of the next
] instalment of the massive Grand Theft Auto series.
]
] On December 17 2003, Take-Two - parent company of GTA
] publisher Rockstar - registered three GTA trademarks, we
] can reveal. Crucially, the trademark "GTA: San Andreas"
] was registered on this date under the Goods and Services
] category as "Computer game programs and software and
] computer game cartridges".

Oh yeah! My town!! (Please be true!)

I can't wait to ram people off the Bay Bridge with a big SUV! Dirty Harry hill jumping shit through the Sunset! Launching rockets at cars driving down Lombard! This is going to be too much damn fun!!

I know its only going to be very loosely based, but hey.. As long as I can run around something that looks like The Embarcadero tossing grenades at groups of innocent people, I'll be happy.

Escape From Neverland

The name says it all, just play it.

It doesn't get really hard till the Thriller round.

Playing Mogul
Topic: Games 1:14 am EST, Dec 23, 2003

Playing with a joystick is basically the same move as playing a piano; the thrill is not what you get from outside, but what you express from inside. Whether it's a piano or a chessboard or a joypad, that's your technology, and you express yourself through it.

"The golden age of movies is gone. That's it. It's a fact."

Has there ever been a cultural sea change as stealthy as the one represented by the rise of interactive entertainment?

The gore and moral lassitude of games like GTA have given rise to a parental panic reminiscent of the early days of rock 'n' roll.

Kids Play - Proof that you are OLD
Topic: Games 11:25 pm EDT, Oct 17, 2003

] Would today's tykes tolerate the classic games you grew
] up with? Kids do say the darndest things in this uncut
] version of an EGM article—now with a bonus game not
] included in the original story!

] Tim: This is nothing compared to Grand Theft Auto III,
] because you can't steal a taxi cab, pick up somebody,
] then drive into the ocean with him.

Wired News: Hackers Put 'Bane' in Shadowbane
Topic: Games 1:41 am EDT, May 31, 2003

] Shadowbane had been hacked by several of its players. But
] unlike standard game hacks, where players gift themselves
] with super strength, health or wealth, these hackers
] managed to completely alter the rules of Shadowbane --
] turning a suddenly wrathful game loose on its players.
]
] "At first, players started speculating that there was a
] really bad bug in the game code," player Tim Wheating
] said. "Then we realized that somehow an insane god had
] taken control of our world and was out to kill us all."

] The population of an entire Shadowbane town was forcibly
] moved to the bottom of the sea, where they drowned. City
] guards turned feral and attacked town residents. Mobs of
] never-before-seen superpowerful creatures, seemingly
] spontaneously spawned from the ether, began to prowl the
] streets unchecked, killing characters in the most painful
] way possible.

] Mike Gontelli, a late arrival to the game that evening,
] said that when he arrived in Shadowbane "there were
] hundreds of tombstones. New players were being beaten and
] tortured. Newbie blood was flowing like a river. I knew it
] wasn't real, but it was oddly terrifying."

Video-Game Killing Builds Visual Skills, Researchers Report
Topic: Games 6:58 pm EDT, May 29, 2003

] Experienced players of these games are 30 percent to 50
] percent better than nonplayers at taking in everything
] that happens around them, according to the research, which
] appears today in the journal Nature. They identify objects
] in their peripheral vision, perceiving numerous objects
] without having to count them, switch attention rapidly
] and track many items at once.

I knew all that Grand Theft Auto playing would pay off.

] The professor and her student decided to study the
] connection between video game playing and visual
] attention. They carried out four experiments on
] undergraduates, all of them male because no female
] shooter game fans could be found on campus.

Haha..

] Research Director for Client Access and Technologies,
] who gave a very interesting "hard data" talk at E-3
] about game industry demographics. I'm glad to see
] that along with "talking the talk", he's also "walking
