Choke On This, Demoncrats!
Topic: Miscellaneous 8:09 pm EDT, Sep 17, 2004

Ralph Nader has made it on the Florida ballot, despite the best efforts of those bastions of tolerance and free-thought, the Democrats, to stifle his voice as a candidate. The funniest part of this article is when DNC chariman Terry McAuliffe says, "The fact that Ralph Nader secured a place on the Florida ballot by means of the Pat Buchanan Reform Party speaks for itself. In state after state, Nader has become an extension of the Republican Party and their corporate backers."

Well, talk about mudslinging. If the Dems attacked Bush with the ferocity they have reserved for a true liberal (which they are definitely NOT), then maybe they would have a chance of winning the election whether Nader was there to "spoil" this already rotten system or not. If they even made the effort to ditch their own corporate backers (many the same as the GOP's backers), then they would possibly have a chance of acheiving some decent populist social change. Instead, they are bullies who distort liberalism. Yes, Bush may be a wolf, but at least he doesn't wear sheep's clothing.

First thing Hitler did was make destruction of the flag a crime. They throw this stupid issue around all the time. It's a waste of time and a smokescreen and barely deserves being commented upon. Stick to real issues that lie behind this. By the way, flag-burning doesn't equate social commentary. It merely enrages people who lead normal lives and feel a bit patriotic. They are not evil and do not need further baiting by anyone to further turn them against what they already view as a demonic liberal presence in the US. Why not change your tactics to be inclusive instead of divisive? A paragraph, well-worded and cogent, is more valuable than a fucked up shithead burning a flag. Besides, arson is already illegal, so burning the flag is by proxy, unless you are doing it on your own property. So, save us the bullshit, k, and think for a change.

Ashcroft is on the job! Maybe this will help stop you from stealing movies and music. It's better than rounding everyone up and shooting them, isn't it? Now that the FBI is tackling the issue head-on, maybe it will make some people think about their actions. Anyhow, I doubt Kerry will take your side either. Don't you know that Hollywood has our two loyal parties in their pockets?

90 Percent of Afghans Registered to Vote
Topic: Miscellaneous 2:57 am EDT, Aug  3, 2004

Contrary to his name, Noteworthy does not contribute anything noteworthy to this! your meme sucks, bro!Nine out of 10 eligible Afghans have signed up for landmark October elections, the United Nations said Sunday, a resounding endorsement of a democratic experiment supposed to help Afghanistan turn its back on years of debilitating war.

... except when the Afghan news media report that candidates are "sniping" at each other, they aren't referring to verbal attacks.

WSJ ran a good week-in-review-style article last week entitled something like "Good news from Afghanistan" in which the reporters highlighted a litany of positive developments in the country.
