"The future masters of technology will have to be lighthearted and intelligent. The machine easily masters the grim and the dumb." -- Marshall McLuhan, 1969

Speed and cocaine appeared on the scene as gamers searched for longer play sessions through chemistry. In Thailand, police raid gaming cafes on a regular basis, looking for the amphetamines being slipped into the water to keep the customers up all night.

Now THAT is funny.

We are a locally owned and operated small business using technology to continue doing business the old fashioned way. We offer high quality food, homemade from locally produced ingredients whenever possible, at very reasonable prices in a friendly, casual environment.

There are no words to describe how much I truly LOVE this place. The look of the web interface is horrible, and as I remember, so was registration.. But you will become a happy customer of this fine establishment. Just go to the page, type in your account name, and your regular order is there waiting for you to hit go. And in very short order, a (cute) Burrito Girl will arrive with your order. They don't require your card at delivery and they have a way to add in your tip when you order, so you don't have to fumble with cash or cards when your food arrives.

The Burrito's are very good. If you order extra nachos, I highly suggest the Salsa Fresca.

NY Daily News | Turner's CNN Doomsday Plan
Topic: Humor 10:27 am EST, Nov  1, 2001

But Turner, it seems, has been a doom-and-gloom kind of guy from the very day in June 1980 when he launched the cable network. He said then, as only he could, "We gonna go on air June 1, and we gonna stay on until the end of the world. When that time comes, we'll cover it, play 'Nearer, My God, to Thee,' and sign off."

Ten years later, I'm told, Turner used CNN production facilities to create what he called his "end-of-the-world" video. Sources tell me it consists of a recording of "Nearer, My God," over footage of a waving American flag. Turner is said to have ordered the tape locked away until it was determined that the world was about to end.

I really hope Ted dosen't know something we don't...

including a new liquid heroin financed by Osama bin Laden, called the "Tears of Allah".

The "Tears of Allah" thing was what caught my eye here. Tears of Allah Heroin! Its all the rage!

Heh. I was under the impression that Janes was a US company. Just got LART'd for it, with good reason. So to correct myself, Jane's is a very good source of information about how US/British/NATO forces can kick your ass.. Outside that, I suggest making sure you propaganda filters are on.

Still Seeking a Fusion Solution
Topic: Miscellaneous 5:41 am EST, Nov  1, 2001

More fusion news. Closer.. Closer... Closer....

Odds are by the time comercial fusion power plants are a reality, so will consumer fuel cells and distributed power systems. I hope that in about 30 years most of our energy will be generated in close proximity to where it is needed. And clean..

If you have eyes that can look more then 30 years into the future, its possible. Lets hope our government has those eyes and uses it's influence to drive the corporate world in that direction. They have no incentive to go there by themselves as it stands right now.
